高校の頃、昼は一人でメロンパンばっか食ってたな
教室は居心地悪いし、屋上近くの階段とか美術室で食ってた

本当はカレーパンとか焼きそばパンが好きなんだけど
購買のパンは種類が少なくて人気あるヤツはすぐ売り切れちゃうわけ
んで、競争心無い俺はいつも売れ残りのメロンパンだった

ある日、いつもの様にメロンパン持って廊下歩いてると
同じクラスの女子が「メロンパン好きなん?」と話しかけてきた
俺は動転してロクに返事もせず立ち去った
その子はクラスの中でも一二を争う可愛い子で
俺はメロンパンじゃなくその子が好きだった

俺がもし、カレーパンや焼きそばパンを買える様な奴だったら
あの時、あの子と少しでも話が出来たんだろうか
